The Opportunity

Our location in Abbott Park, IL currently has an opportunity for a Manager, Corporate Relations.

The Manager, Corporate Relations has primary responsibility for the management and execution of corporate projects, programs and events. Charged with managing internal and external relationships with key stakeholders to influence outcomes that will positively promote Abbott's reputation. Is responsible for managing operations at Abbott House, a small museum and cultural center on Abbott’s headquarters campus, including events and daily operations. Consistently exhibits mastery of stakeholder engagement and written/verbal communications, and demonstrates an ability to deliver favorable results within allocated budgets and deadlines. Provides support to DVP, Corporate and Civic Relations and to the Office of the Chairman to execute projects for executive management, and works closely with colleagues in Corporate Relations.

What You’ll Work On

  • Manages coordination and tactical execution of high-profile events.

  • Conducts ongoing reviews of Corporate Officer profiles and bios.

  • Serves as the primary interface for Abbott House events including management of all logistics, content updates, and overall operations.

  • Is responsible for maintaining exhibits and content at Abbott House, to effectively capture Abbott's history and inspire visitors to the House.

  • Works with sensitive information and oversees high-visibility products and processes.

  • Work includes the support and/or management of employees and service organizations across all levels.

  • Has budgetary responsibilities specific to Abbott House programming.

  • Requires broad managerial abilities requiring the integration and coordination of multiple, dissimilar functions across the enterprise.

  • Will work with cross-functional/divisional teams, over which he/she has no authority, to provide solutions that ultimately will serve the corporation.

  • Has contact with a broad range of internal contacts, across levels, including executives and other senior managers

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in writing, journalism, business, or marketing strongly preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Minimum 8 years PR experience, preferably in a corporate setting.

  • Outstanding executive presence and verbal communication skills; strong cognitive and analytical skills.

  • Must be able to meet deadlines, work under pressure and travel on short notice.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to respond efficiently in a continuously changing environment.

  • Proven ability to set priorities, work under tight deadlines and determine appropriate course of action.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
