HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The successful candidate will participate in developing and managing systems level requirements, develop operational systems concepts, originating design concepts or performing systems level integration for DCGS-A and performing post-integration operations for highly complex systems.

The successful candidate will:

Perform software integration against DCGS-A baselines to support to development and delivery of enhancements and defect resolution to software sprints. Develop operational systems concepts, originating design concepts or performing systems level integration and test for highly complex systems. You will create delivery modules using Puppet and Chocolatey open-source software applications and you should be able to modify/update software installation packages. The candidate will Interact with systems Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), software developers, and software testers to validate and verify software enhancements/updates are correctly implemented and function as intended.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

The candidate will have competitive knowledge in areas such as :

  • Has a basic understanding of ArcGIS desktop software, e.g., ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro, and mid-to-strong understanding of server components, e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise (ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, and GeoEvent Server), and Windows Server OS. Additional knowledge of Army Gold Master baselines (AGM) and Microsoft SQL server encouraged.

  • Able to create step-by-step user documentation to assist in software integration and testing events/deliveries.

  • Participates in the developments of integration and test strategies.

  • Solves integration problems in the functional area to which assigned.

Required Skills :

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience) in a technical/scientific/business field, plus 5+ years of relevant Systems Engineering/Integration experience

  • Thoroughly understands software engineering and programming for large computer and minicomputer and microprocessor systems supporting broad base of applications.

  • Background in requirements analysis, design, and coding methodologies (Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, XML); documentation standards; configuration management; DoD software policies; and DoD test and evaluation requirements; real-time operating systems, software integration/troubleshooting, data base design and management, and resource utilization assessment.

  • Typically works in highly complex areas where ingenuity and creativity are required to provide solutions to major design problems.

  • Have the technical background and skills to perform in all phases of software design, development, documentation, integration, and implementation.

  • Ability to design and develop advanced networking techniques.

  • Experience with Army systems including Mission Command and DCGS-A baselines

  • ​Experience with Jira and Confluence.

  • Must possess TS/SCI clearance

  • US Citizenship Required
