The Role:

The Maintenance Fitter is a member of the Engineering Team, who will provide technical services to the engineering department based in the Cold End where the finished glass containers are inspected for quality and defective containers are rejected, to be returned to the furnace. Each container is inspected using advanced sensors and cameras and images processed by computer software to detect defects. You will utilise your trade skills to support and maintain the equipment within the scope. This is a day shift role, working Monday to Friday with the opportunity for overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain, fault find and repair:

  • Computerised inspection machines.

  • Conveyor systems.

  • Packaging machinery including palletisers

  • Power transmission systems

  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Other specialised equipment and duties as directed

  • Plan and undertake job changes

  • Identify and take part in continuous improvement opportunities

  • Carry out preventive maintenance

  • Complete project work as required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Trade qualified – Maintenance Fitter

  • Previous experience in fault finding automated machinery

  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve

  • Ability to manage changing priorities

  • Proven attention to detail

  • Strong safety focus

In conjunction with the above, the successful applicant will possess strong communication skills, have a high level of initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude. Being able to work as part of a team as well as independently is imperative as is experience within a maintenance team environment.
