Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Revenue Integrity, the Revenue Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing revenue recognition, reporting, and analysis for patient billable revenue and accounts receivable in accordance with GAAP and SCA Health’s policies, procedures, and controls. Leading a team of revenue accountant(s) and analyst(s), the Revenue Accounting Manager will support accounting and analytics for SCA Health’s physician practice investments.

  • Lead, develop, and mentor revenue accountant(s) and analyst(s), developing knowledge bases within the team and serving as a revenue “expert” in the identification and resolution of facility-related accounting issues and questions.

  • Assist in the creation/maintenance of an “achievement” team culture—customer-focused, open communication and dissemination of information, career/goal development for team, focus on teambuilding, recognition of team efforts/accomplishments, etc.

  • Design, implement and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data, ensuring best practices.

  • Review work conducted by revenue accountants to ensure production of quality work product.

  • Develop/manage key reporting metrics to provide clear understanding of team performance and ensure achievement of objectives/goals are met.

  • Review payor contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and SCA Health policies and procedures.

  • Summarize and communicate proposed solutions with the appropriate audiences in a manner tailored to their understanding, level, or experience.

  • Maintains communication and partnership with leadership of stakeholder groups: Market Accounting, Cash Accounting, Financial Operations, Revenue Cycle Operations, and Integration Accounting to meet strategic objectives.

  • Effectively communicate financial impact of facility level revenue and accounts receivable issues to appropriate stakeholders

  • Assist management with oversight of special projects and/or ad hoc revenue reporting needs.

  • Continuous review of revenue processes for enhanced efficiencies and work product quality

Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting or Finance required.

  • CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • 5 + years corporate and/or public accounting experience required.

  • 2 + years management experience required.

  • Physician Practice and Healthcare experience strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of patient accounting systems and revenue cycle processes.

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and statistical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational and time management skills.
