Description Exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller within a growing organization. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with a demonstrated history of resolving problems after identifying issues. As the Assistant Controller, you will assist in supervising the accounting staff and report to the Controller. This full-time employment opportunity is based in the Alachua, Florida area. Your responsibilities
Assure regular account reconciliation to completion
experienced preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Aid with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Ready different technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures
Other duties as requested
Promote accountability and the meeting of deliverables
Facilitate to ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, development, and goal setting
Backfill for Controller as necessary
Sort out and construct Ad Hoc financial reports
Supervise the accounting team during the closing process to certify deadlines are met
Discern and establish process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Design relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like key financial metrics, actual spend against budgets/outlook, and the monthly flash report
Advocate implementation and make certain adherence to accounting policies and procedures Requirements
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IIA standards
Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
Remarkable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
Earlier work involving Microsoft Power BI
Quality experience with Cost Management
Analyze Financial Statements experience
General familiarity with financial statement preparation
Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
Practical knowledge of Cost Allocation
Proven knowledge of Consolidated Financial Statements
Strong familiarity with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
Well-founded grasp of Financial Statement
Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience preferred
Expertise in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
