The Opportunity

This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Diabetes Care division where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As the Senior Manager, Global Market and Competitive Insights you will help advance the Global Market Insights team’s mission to combine empathy and analytics in a way that provoke bold actions to best serve our customers. This position will lead key competitive insights initiatives and fuel growth by delivering actionable insights that guide strategy and influence decision making across product development and marketing efforts. They will lead, coach, and empower team members to be successful in their roles. This individual should have a strong ability to communicate and will be accountable for synthesizing and translating insights into strategic recommendations and actions at senior leadership levels.

What You’ll Work On

  • This position is tasked with providing global market and competitive insights to the Diabetes Care division based on primary and/ or secondary research and analytics.

  • Deliver structured communications in written and verbal form on competitors and the category with insights and implications to the business.

  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to define and execute learning needs that are aligned to organizational goals

  • Be seen as a trusted leader and subject matter expert with the ability to influence, develop and maintain a highly effective team.

  • Be a magnetic people leader, helping to manage and develop the team with the ability to customize coaching style to bring out their best.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a matrix environment with a track record of career growth

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years working experience in the market research, business analytics/forecasting, competitive intelligence field in industries such as Healthcare, Consumer Packaged Goods, Medical Devices or Pharmaceuticals or similar industries.

  • The ability to understand the business needs and to develop and communicate information around these needs will drive success within this position

  • Understands implications of data limitations and can spot and interpret data discrepancies

  • Expert at synthesizing across multiple data sets to create a meaningful and compelling message for a wide variety of audiences

  • Conducts research in a consistent and representative manner with attention to detail. Apply logic, critical thinking, and assumptions without complete information

  • Understands business planning processes and has experience with anticipatory thinking methodologies and scenario planning

  • Whole brained thinker who combines data with deep empathy and strong storytelling

  • Comfort with ambiguity and experience in organizational design

  • Strong people leadership skills

  • Experience working with interdependent cross-functional and global teams

  • Flexible schedule for global calls, and willing / able to travel domestically and internationally

  • Strategic thinker who approaches challenges with a “possibilities and learning” mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree

  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries

The base pay for this position is $144,100.00 – $288,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
