Position Summary:The Chief Human Resources Officer is a member of the executive team who plays a key role in advancing the organization’s strategic goals by optimizing its human resources, staff development and culture management functions. The incumbent is the architect for leading and developing the execution of strategies to ensure the organization benefits from a strong and engaged workforce within an empowering, supportive, inclusive, and values-driven culture. Working closely with the CEO and other executive team members, the Chief Human Resources Officer will build and maintain a department that is forward thinking, responsive and proactive toward the workforce, leadership and culture needs of the agency, its programs, and departments.

What We are Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a senior HR leader, preferably as a CHRO or similar role.

  • Strategic mindset with a record of accomplishment in implementing successful HR initiatives.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational management, business or other related field preferred but not required.

  • Experience:Seven to ten years of experience that demonstrates increased responsibility in human resources, employee relations or other human capital functions, preferably with a nonprofit or government entity. At least 3 years of supervisory experience is required.

  • Workstyle:Proactive, forward-thinking, servant-style leader. The incumbent should be a self-starter who can effectively work independently, as well as in a team environment. The ability to motivate and coach others is essential, as is the ability to take an idea and turn it into a reality. Must be creative but detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.

  • Other skills, knowledge, and/or certifications:Strong data analytic skills with the ability to interpret and, incorporate information within recommendations and decision making; HRCI PHR or SPHR or SHRM CP or SCP certifications are preferred and a willingness to become certified after hired is a plus;

Salary Description

$140,000-$160,000
