This team requests EST hours and we prefer candidates able to work hybrid from our Dearborn, MI office.

The Global Network Security Services Director leads a 50+ member technical organization focused on engineering, delivering and operating robust, highly reliable solutions for Extranet, Load Balancers and IPAM (Ford has a Class A Network). This is a critical position within Enterprise Platform Engineering & Operations which is part of Enterprise Technology. This role provides strategic direction for network security infrastructure, services and related tooling used throughout the Global Ford Enterprise. This role has global responsibilities with teams in India, United States, United Kingdom and Spain.

  • Provide leadership in planning, project management, and implementation of network technologies in support of company goals, identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvements.

  • Maintain all critical Enterprise-wide services including DNS, DNR, DHCP and IPAM

  • Manage company network security devices and related infrastructure globally – this includes but is not limited to secure connectivity solutions for employees, suppliers, dealers and joint-ventures.

  • Ensure ITIL processes for incident, request, change and problem management are leveraged with an emphasis on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Manage financial budgets, purchase orders and supplier engagements for network services.

  • Engineer, deploy and support all extranet services/solutions for global Ford employees and agents.

  • Oversee the planning, engineering and operations of network load balancer services globally.

  • Drive automation of key network services by leveraging infrastructure as code

  • Communicate direction, commit people to action, and convey complex information in easily understood format.

  • Collaborate and influence outcomes across a complex, diverse, and fast-paced organization.

  • Recruit, develop, inspire, and retain a high-performing Network Infrastructure and Architecture professionals.

  • Define monitors, alerts, and escalation procedures to meet network availability SLA requirements.

  • Create network vision, fostering innovation and leveraging IT trends that create business value aligned with the company’s requirements and expectations.

  • Conduct product and vendor evaluations for infrastructure, ensuring the adoption of best-in-class technologies and partners.

  • Work closely with and manage strategic vendor partner relationships to build strategic relationships for organizational value.

  • Provide technical thought leadership to drive software defined infrastructure, infrastructure as code, automation, and technology optimization.

  • Offer oversight and problem-solving leadership for complex infrastructure implementation, system upgrades, and operational troubleshooting.

  • Ability to work independently with a diverse population in skill set, management level, and geographic location.

You'll have…

  • 10+ years Network Infrastructure/Security/Firewall responsibilities

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership roles, preferably in managing and supporting network infrastructure and teams.

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field - Masters preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate project objectives and scope feasibility, gain understanding, schedule resources, and manage budget to plan.

  • 5+ years operating and supporting Cisco & Palo Alto network platforms – this includes PA Prisma Access

  • 5+ years experience with F5 load balancers and Infoblox IPAM systems.

  • 5+ year experience working with DevOps concepts, tools, and ways of working as a part of agile software development (Jira, Rally knowledge).

Even better, you may have…

  • Experience with building hybrid SD-WAN services, network transformation, network modernization services.

  • Deep understanding of Google cloud platform (GCP) network architectures and configurations

  • Strong Communication skills – Ability to clearly articulate technical vision, department goals and objectives; Collaborate effectively with peers; Communicate policy and strategy to team members.

  • Strategic Thinking – Able to anticipate technical outcomes and give guidance on how to meet goals; Able to direct and deliver plans to achieve efficient, on-time results.

  • The role requires an individual that is highly collaborative with strong influencing skills, ambitious, creative, highly resourceful, self-driven and results oriented.

  • Experience working with DevOps concepts, tools, and ways of working as a part of agile software development (Jira, Rally knowledge).

  • Extensive knowledge of the policies, practices, and techniques associated with network infrastructure, as well as applicable licenses, policies and laws that are applicable.

  • Experience in building partnerships in the network space and identifying the key partner solutions for the customer’s needs.

  • Experience with building hybrid SD-WAN services, network transformation, network modernization services.

This position is a salary grade LL5.
