Key Responsibilities:

  • Start up, commission, re-commission customer Building Automation Systems

  • Provides solutions to complex systems problems either troubleshooting the system or advising others on how to resolve problems. Works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.

  • Be able to provide turnkey project delivery on medium to large projects

  • Large complex AHUs (Multi-Zone/VFD/Mult-coil)

  • Complex CW systems (Redundant/Pri-Sec Loops)

  • Sequenced HW Systems with 3 or more boilers

  • EPMS/Third Party integrations with assistance to 3rd party networks

  • Complete all required commissioning documentation. Maintains accurate As-Built drawing package and makes changes in EDS, Visio, Excel, Word, as required.

  • Completes paperwork on-time including time sheets, expense reports, posting of work orders, on-site documentation and project status reports

  • Responsible for total system operation from controllers to sensors, loading software, interfacing with third party systems, Sets up trends, alarms and reports and works with customer IT personnel, etc.. Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/ or a laptop computer.

  • Performs static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) commissioning of software programming.

  • Performs site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system.

  • Responsible for set up of operator workstations with all associated software.

  • Responsible for performing job database backups on a daily basis or as advised.

  • Assists with project turnover to the Service Department.

  • Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Tracks and records job progress and keeps customer informed on progress. Reviews customer’s systems and, if needed, points out areas of improvement and scope issues to project manager. Keeps project management apprised of customer concerns and issues.

  • Maintain a daily log of all pertinent job related activities

  • Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Able to provide direction and guidance to other team members .

  • Communicates issues with Project Manager and Field Supervisor on a timely basis.

  • Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology, including layout and troubleshooting.

  • Well organized with good time management skills. This position requires excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Able to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.

  • Able to read and understand Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical blueprints.

  • Thorough experience with Microsoft software products to include: Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Windows products when required.

  • Possesses an excellent understanding of the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences.

  • Possess computer and networking skills to properly maintain their laptop as well as experience in the commissioning of Ethernet and ARC Net communications.

  • Strong background in mechanical and HVAC system operation and design.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2+ years’ experience in the HVAC controls industry

  • Possess and maintain valid and current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.

  • Ability to travel in excess of 50% of typical workweek, including, overnight hotel stays, and unexpected travel as well as participate in rotating on call schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Field experience and a complete understanding of the installation and operation of Control systems.

  • Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines.

  • Associates Degree or Technical School in the HVAC industry with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the HVAC controls industry.

  • Able to create, download, and troubleshoot complex HVAC system logic using WebCTRL and associated software.

  • Has an excellent working knowledge of Automated Logic hardware and software.

  • Field experience and a complete understanding of the installation and operation of Control systems.

  • Knowledge and understanding of third- party control systems and integrations.
