Cedar Fair Area Manager - Admissions in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Supervises, plans, coordinates and manages the daily activities and personnel of the Admissions Department, ensuring effective, safe, and efficient operations.

  • Performs related duties as required.

  • Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other park administrators and staff, subordinates, corporate personnel, vendors, professional peers, customers, etc.

  • Prepares and/or processes various records and reports including performance appraisals, purchase orders, over/short reports, till summaries, memos correspondence, etc.

  • Receives and/or reviews various records and reports related to cash handling, labor, supply budget, park attendance, guest experience, etc.

  • Performs general administrative/office work as required, including but not limited to conducting and attending various meetings, entering computer data, preparing reports, correspondence, etc.

  • Creates and/or revises department manuals.

  • Identifies and resolves problems that arise during daily operations.

  • Develops and manages department budgets; monitors expenditures.

  • Establishes and implements policies and procedures, and long‑range plans, for areas of responsibility.

  • Provides for the adequate training and professional development of subordinates.

  • Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; evaluates and makes recommendations as appropriate; offers advice and assistance as needed.

  • Supervises duties of assigned supervisory staff. Supervisory duties include instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; allocating personnel; acting on associate problems; recommending and approving associate discipline, promotions, transfers, and termination.

  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies.

  • Develops and maintains professional working relationships with internal departments, counterparts, and external organizations.

  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by State or provincial law.

  • Three to five years of experience in general business and/or park admissions administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Supervisory experience required.

  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Bachelors degree in business/ related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities in general business and/or park admissions administration.

  • Supervisory experience required.
