We're looking for a Vice President, Franchise to join the team. This role is critical in delivering on HoneyBaked's long-term strategic objective of building a strong, high-performing and profitable franchise system by delivering excellence in franchise store performance. Key to this role will be building strong relationships with current and prospective franchisees and building the foundation of a successful and profitable franchise line of business that consistently drives same store sales growth. The Vice President, Franchise is responsible for the execution of all programs and tools for our franchise stores.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  1. Lead initiatives to build the effectiveness of franchise operations by clearly articulating and communicating the brand strategy and translating into actionable business plans for our franchise operators.

  2. Develop trust, credibility, and effective and collaborative relationships with the franchise community as valued contributors in HoneyBaked's overall success.

  3. Build a strong, collaborative relationship with Franchise Advisory Council (FAC) that supports the brand and overall HBH initiatives while giving the Franchise community a voice in shaping the overall brand strategy.

  4. Partner with other key brand leaders and works cross-functionally to align and mobilize franchise operators according to HBH Strategic Plan and Initiatives.

  5. Provide leadership and direction to the Franchise Team with oversight of store sales, transactions, profitability and operational performance.

  6. Effectively hire, organize, direct, assess and retain a strong performing Franchise Team.

  7. Ensure and direct compliance by all franchisees to company operations with franchise agreements, trademarks, brand standards, operational excellence, food safety standards and performance requirements.

  8. Lead and facilitate the development, implementation and execution of plans for operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and appropriate controls to accommodate rapid growth of the franchise organization.

  9. Develop and execute a franchise development and growth strategy including recruiting, selection, onboarding, initial opening and follow-up support.

  10. Effectively communicate development progress to the franchise team and across the HBH organization through performance reporting and tracking systems for key business building initiatives.

  11. Partner with and participate on all brand marketing and new product development teams in the development of strategies, plans and promotions and ensure programs and initiatives are store ready with solid roll-out plans.

  12. Analyze execution of programs and initiatives through business, financial and operational results.

  13. Lead, coordinate and deliver strategies that assist the franchise community with initiatives that drive Every Day and Holiday revenue.

  14. Ensure new initiatives result in increased sales and improved profitability for the Franchise operation.

  15. Manage the negotiation, selection and approval of all contracts and agreements, resources, suppliers and support programs for the franchise organization.

  16. Partner with General Counsel and Franchise Counsel to maintain FDD, franchise agreements, renewals and appropriate updates.

  17. Establish the Franchise annual business plan, responsibilities and coordinate the functions within the team.

  18. Partner with Director, Development & Facilities to administer programs for the selection of sites, construction of buildings

  19. Full P&L responsibilities including annual budgeting, reforecasting, monthly reviews and action planning.

YOUR TRACK RECORD

8+ years of experience in leading Franchise Operations and Development of multi-unit concept that includes both Company and Franchise operated retail units, restaurants or relevant experience with full P&L responsibility. CFE certification preferred. Bachelors degree or equivalent - Masters degree a plus. Must be highly proficient at Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Success in this role will look like:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading/managing/motivating teams with multiple, complex projects. Also must have in depth and successful experience leading and positively influencing franchise partners to achieve targeted financial and operational results.

  • Strong financial acumen, analysis, problem solving, negotiating and influencing skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Self-motivation, personal accountability, innovation, a comfort level with working independently and ability to lead change.

  • Taking the initiative to stay up-to-date with all retail operations skills, processes, knowledge and information.

  • Consistently demonstrate a customer focused attitude working with all leaders and teams across the organization to deliver on the overall success of the Operations function and the Brand.

  • A successful track record of making independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven project management experience in planning, directing and implementing multiple and concurrent projects

  • Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can effectively interface and collaborate with all levels of the organization

  • Strong consulting experience, excellent organizational and execution skills, ability to prioritize work, and initiative to introduce and improve processes

  • Initiative and enthusiasm to cope with changing circumstances and workloads under pressure and deadlines

  • Ability to interface well with all departments of the company and to represent the company in a highly professional manner

  • A high degree of drive with a proven track record of achieving aggressive results.

  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical behavior.

WHAT ELSE TO KNOW?

Travel is required - there will be frequent travel to store locations, to meet with current and prospective franchisees, and other industry events.
