Starbucks Maintenance technician (12 month FTC) in Amsterdam, Netherlands

What will you do?

The Maintenance Technician contributes to Starbucks’ success by providing technical support to operations team partners to ensure that all plant machinery is performing at the optimum level and is able to be operated in a safe manner. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles by championing a continuous improvement culture and continually seeking to improve reliability of equipment, processes and standards to eliminate waste, increase safety, quality and value.

Some of the key responsibilities are:

  • Preperation and execution of planned maintenance work orders, safely, in full and on time;

  • Analysis of deviations in machine- and/or (machine related) product specifications using break down analysis methods;

  • Responding to calls from shift supervisor and advice on repairs and prioritizing the urgency with plant supervisor;

  • Carrying out preventive maintenance, including inspections, on all plant machinery as preventive maintenance schedule;

  • Report findings for appropriate follow-up;

  • Initiating and supporting continuous improvement to all processes to promote and maintain safety, quality and production output;

  • Training, coaching and instructing team partners in routine preventive maintenance/autonomous maintenance.

In this role you report directly to the manager Maintenance.

What do we ask of you?

  • Dutch Middelbaar Beroeps Onderrwijs (MBO) level 4 in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering combined with relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering;

  • 3 years of experience in a technical service department, performing maintenance on production equipment, within a (food) manufacturing environment;

  • Knowledge of work order and spare parts management with a computerized maintenance management system;

  • VCA certificate;

  • Sufficient skills and knowledge to be nominated as an electrical skilled person according NEN3140;

  • Knowledge of mechanical drive technology, pneumatics, hydraulics, process control, PLC;

  • Experience with analytical techniques for problem solving.

You will work in a ‘relaxed 3 shift system’, which means that you only work the night shifts once every 6 weeks (instead of twice a week).
