The Opportunity

Our Data and Analytics team employs cutting-edge technology and innovative strategies to bring comprehensive solutions to our clients in the Life Science sector. As a Senior Consultant specializing in Data Management and Strategy, you will work alongside clients and diverse teams from EY to develop and implement data management frameworks and strategies that address complex business problems. This role involves constant research and development, providing you with the opportunity to build knowledge that is applicable across a wide range of projects now and in the future. Your Key Responsibilities

As an experienced and dynamic Senior Data Management and Strategy Consultant, you will be primarily responsible for leading the development and execution of data management strategies for our clients. You will help them optimize their data governance, improve data quality, and ensure that data management practices are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with business objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting multiple client engagement teams, working with a variety of clients to navigate the complex world of data management and strategy.

  • Providing clients with a unique business perspective on how data management and strategy can transform and improve their entire organization, starting with key business issues they face.

  • Developing and implementing systems and strategies to optimize data quality and statistical efficiency.

  • Interpreting data, analyzing results using advanced techniques, and providing strategic recommendations.

  • Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets to inform strategic decisions.

  • Collaborating with management to prioritize business and informational needs related to data management.

  • Developing and maintaining data architectures, data models, and databases that support data analysis and decision-making.

  • Providing expertise and guidance on data management to Life Science teams and stakeholders.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Strong Life Sciences Functional and Technical experience.

  • Proven experience in data management and strategy, preferably in a senior consulting role.

  • Experience in developing and implementing data management systems, data governance, and data quality initiatives.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of data modeling, data mining, and segmentation techniques.

  • Ability to connect “big-picture” industry and market trends to a client’s data management challenges.

To Qualify for the Role You Must Have

  • A bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Math, Statistics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with approximately three years of related work experience; or a graduate degree in the same and approximately two years of related work experience.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience providing consulting services with a strategic focus on data management and strategy to help clients achieve transformational value.

  • Must have programming experience in at least one of the following: R, Python, SQL.

  • Experience with data visualization skills and tools (Tableau, Power BI, Spotfire, D3.js) is a plus.

  • A willingness to travel to meet client needs. A valid driver’s license in the US is required.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

  • Cloud Big Data skills, such as Azure, AWS, Snowflake.

  • Experience with data and systems architecture (APIs, messaging, etc.).

  • Experience with master data management and data governance.

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $105,800 to $174,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $127,100 to $198,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
