We are currently seeking a European Field Service Engineer who will be responsible for conducting service, repair and/or installation of products at customer site, including electrical, mechanical, and software testing, in accordance with maintenance contracts. Diagnoses system failures and determines most cost-effective solution. Escalates complex issues to greater level of technical support or quality reporting system. May develop new customer service/product agreements. Responds to customer support calls within an assigned territory.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Become technically proficient in the support of our Bioresearch products focusing on microplate readers so that you can provide consistent, world class levels of service and support to our customers

  • Take ownership of all assigned customer service calls, repairs, installations, preventative maintenance and operational qualification schedules and ensuring timely closure of outstanding service issues by minimizing customer downtime and our costs

  • Foster and maintain positive and professional relationships with both external and internal customers to exceed their service expectations

  • Identify business opportunities that help us continue to deliver double-digit growth

  • Complete all administrative operations within target timelines including call scheduling and call closure and providing detailed field service reports for all service activities

  • Manage tools and test equipment inventory ensuring diagnostic tools are properly calibrated as required

  • Promote a consistently positive image of the service organization, our company values, and the value of our products and services European Field Service Engineer following safety guidelines

The essential requirements of the role include:

  • Recognized qualification in electronics/engineering or similar

  • Relevant work experience in a similar role. We will also consider candidates who repair Laboratory equipment as part of their Scientist/ Engineer role who want to work in a Field Service role instead.

  • Driving license, the willingness to travel and happy to stay overnight up to 3 times per week as required. This role will also involve European and some US travel.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Relevant Bio-analytical or Clinical instrument industry experience (Preferably in Life Sciences instrumentation) with knowledge of assembly level fault finding and testing

  • Good mechanical, electronics and electrical experience and knowledge of assembly level fault finding and testing will be an advantage
