The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking a proactive and motivated Maintenance Repairman 1 to join our Weiser Forest District team! DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Maintenance Repairman 1, your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks involving the maintenance, operation, and protection of facility roads, trails, lands, and other infrastructure within the Weiser Forest District. You will perform maintenance and repair work on public buildings and equipment at a sub-journey level, both independently and by assisting skilled workers with performing routine tasks. Additionally, you will assist in the suppression of wildland fires. Other duties you may be responsible for include, but are not limited to: Installing siding and roofing Replacing screens and broken windows Mixing cement and making minor plastering repairs to drywall Laying linoleum, blocks, and bricks Trimming grass, weeds, shrubs, and trees Ensuring cleanliness by picking up litter, sweeping pathways, and cleaning drains Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Seasonal, full-time employment without benefits. The season runs from approximately March until November at which the employee is placed on leave without pay. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Travel and overtime may be required for emergency and training situations. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.
