Texas Health Resources is looking for a top skilled RedHat Engineer III with at least five years of experience. Is that you?


Work location: Texas Health Resources, 612 East Lamar Blvd, Arlington, TX 76011

Primarily remote however must live in the DFW area or be willing to relocate to the DFW area.

Work hours: Full-time, Day shift; 40 hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Here’s What You Need

Education

· Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field, 4 years relevant work experience in lieu of a degree (Required)

​​​Experience

· 5 Years Relevant work experience to include experience working with IBM AIX and/or RedHat Enterprise Linux, shell scripting, and hardware management with a Bachelor's degree (Required) Or,

· 9 Years Relevant work experience to include experience working with IBM AIX and/or RedHat Enterprise Linux, shell scripting, and hardware management without a degree. (Required)

What You Will Do

The RedHat Engineer III is responsible for maintaining the Unix and Linux infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of availability, reliability, and data protection. Maintains capacity requirements based on business needs, follows best practices in design, architecture, deployment, and support. Responsible for hardware and software patches, upgrades, security initiatives, and project support. Mentors level I and II engineers.

  • Infrastructure Maintenance - Research and qualify appropriate patches and upgrades for both system software and hardware components. Includes, but not limited to operating systems, server virtualization, and high availability.

  • Administer and implement security parameters and procedures in accordance with policy. Make necessary adjustments to meet the business requirements.

  • Administer and monitor system performance and making necessary changes to meet the business requirements. Administer and monitor backup processes. Document standard operating procedures. Maintain disaster recovery procedures.

  • Architecture/Engineering - Assist in the design, architecture, and implementation of technology solutions that meet the business requirements and align with technology standards.

  • Be a subject matter expert of at least two infrastructure components. Includes, but not limited to server virtualization, storage management, networking protocols and configuration, developing and maintain scripts, operating systems and high availability management.

  • Provide technical recommendations and solutions to meet the business goals. Install and configure hardware and software solutions. Optimize current processes and develops new processes as required.

  • Act as a liaison and advocates for systems, tools, processes, and procedures necessary throughout the life cycle of technology. Remains knowledgeable in technology advancements and industry best practices.

  • Support assigned application(s) by participating in build activities, change management and incident management as assigned.
