Amazon Legal Project Manager, Global Service Compliance in Arlington, Virginia

Description

We are seeking a stellar legal project manager to join the Global Service Compliance (GSC) team supporting Amazon’s Project Kuiper.

Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

Working closely with Kuiper legal, finance, accounting, tax and business teams, you will develop out-of-this-world strategies for operationalizing requirements in creative, business-centric ways that allow Kuiper to move quickly while meeting legal requirements in global markets. As a Legal Project Manager for Kuiper GSC, you will drive projects focused on development, implementation, and improvement of systems and processes that support Kuiper service launches, operations, and compliance. You will collaborate with stakeholders across teams and provide legal operational support for a wide range of areas, including privacy and government contracting.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment. You will need the ability to identify root cause problems, think creatively and strategically to identify solutions for both the short- and long-term, and then effectively present your recommendations to stakeholders. You will be called on to manage large-scale projects, facilitate agreement between teams with different – and sometimes competing – priorities, escalate or act with appropriate urgency to move projects forward even in the face of ambiguity, and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

This position is based in Bellevue, WA. Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.
