Position Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Arlington, Virginia

Position Responsibilities:

Works across organizations. Influences strategic decision-making and planning by making data driven recommendations. Leads finance programs where the problem is defined, however, the plan/strategy may not be defined. Provides guidance to peers. Educates others, applies business context to provide broader understanding of policies, practices, systems, and procedures for end-to-end processes. Develops processes for data collection that are scalable and auditable; identifies data requirements during process design. Independently implements, maintains, and tests required internal controls; remediates issues. Work on monthly close process including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations. Researches and consults with the Corporate Accounting Policy team to draft technical GAAP accounting position papers. Assists with the interpretation and presentation of financial results and impact of business events. Leads a statutory audit from start to finish. Reviews implementation of transactions for accuracy. Establishes and drives relationships with business partners and proactively address issues/concerns. Leads and implements process improvements across teams and organizations. 40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $121,222/year to $163,200/year.

Basic Qualifications

Position Requirements:

A Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration/Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math or related discipline and 1 year of experience in financial analysis or consulting. In the alternative, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration/Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math or related discipline followed by 5 progressively responsible years of experience in financial analysis or consulting. Experience/skills must include: CPA (or equivalent). Experience with COSO internal control framework. Experience with the concepts of control design and operational efficiency. GAAP research tools and the FASB codification. Experience working with a fast-paced, high-tech start-up or complex company. researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.
