This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Special Mentions: * Relocation provided * Travel expected up to * Shifts available: o A Shift - Monday to Friday (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM) * Interviews will include a technical assessment As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Responsible for all process-related aspects of quality of InvestmentCastings (IC). Develop mold and gatingdesignsfor IC parts. Determine shelling sequence and material choices of slurry and stucco layers appropriate for part alloy and geometry. Design insulating wrap and pre-cast mold preparation techniques to ensure appropriate solidification and grain structure in resultant cast components. Determine appropriate mold preheat and metal pouring temperatures to achieve specification compliant castings with regards to porosity, grain structure, and surface integrity. Document process parameters via work instructions for manufacturing operators. Must understand basic super-alloy microstructure conditions, heat treatment, HIP effects and surface micro/macrostructures and indications. Statistically analyze and understand casting-related process data (metallurgical and non-destructive testing) into useful summary reports using Excel/Minitab/JMPtype applications. Interpretdata for continuous process improvements to maximize Quality and reduce cost. Engineerwilldevelop and execute aggressive timeline schedulesfor process developmentand refinement. Candidate must be self-motivated and work well unsupervised, as well as be able to work in team environments. Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing, and test for the Manufacturing team. Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness. Other responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Direct experience with manufacturing investment castings. B.S. in engineering with 7+ years of relevant Quality or Engineering experience. Demonstratedinvestment casting process relatedproblem-solving skills involving statistical analysis tools and DOE methodology. Strong verbal and technical writing skills are a must. Written communication skills required forwritingwork instructionsfor the operatorsas well as preparation of qualification reports and other documentation.
