Robert Half Data Center Technician in Ashburn, Virginia

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Data Center Technician in Ashburn, Virginia. This role will involve managing infrastructure installation requests, supporting power down events, and interfacing with various teams. The Data Center Technician will also be responsible for coordinating work requests, creating and monitoring tickets, and assisting with rack level capacity management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage infrastructure installation requests from initiation to completion

• Support building power downs and single-sided events

• Liaise with the BAU team to provide additional infrastructure

• Work in collaboration with BU's and Hines engineering to coordinate work requests

• Ensure all service levels are met by coordinating work requests with electrical contractors

• Provide detailed estimates of assigned projects and document requirements through direct communication with IT or Project Management team

• Oversee the creation, monitoring, and closure of tickets

• Coordinate power remediation from start to finish

• Assist with rack level capacity management and MOA monitoring

• Participate in meetings pertaining to BAU or project INF work

• Order and track all infrastructure materials

• Manage infrastructure stock inventory. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of two years of experience as a Data Center Technician or in a similar role

• Knowledge and experience in Network Operations Center (NOC) is essential

• Proven experience with Cable Assemblies and Cable Installation is required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is important

• Familiarity with Cisco Hardware is a must

• Experience in SAN - Storage Area Network is necessary

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
