Your New Role…

The Accounting Sr. Manager is a key position supporting the Direct-to-Consumer Segment Content Accounting for HBO, Max, and D+. This individual will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations related to film cost capitalization and expense, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial records and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Team leadership and management: You will lead a team of content accountants located in the US and Mexico in a very complex and high-volume area. This will include coaching and development of existing team members, onboarding and training of new team members, cross team coordination, and excellent communication with accounting leadership.

  • Content accounting: You will delegate and execute as a team on all monthly and quarterly content accounting tasks. These tasks include, but are not limited to production accounting, monthly and quarterly close processes, preparation of SEC disclosure support packages, account reconciliations, maintaining compliance with internal controls and performance of the quarterly flux analysis. You will work closely with our corporate and production finance counterparts to monitor the financial activity related to our DTC content.

  • SAP S4 HANA: You will lead a core team from Content Accounting to assist the S4 HANA project team in the planning, design, and implementation of the new ERP solution.

  • Audit: You will collaborate with auditors, both internal as well as external, to ensure team’s accurate and timely submission of requested documentation. Address any questions resulting from the audit.

  • Other tasks: You will address tasks required to achieve team and company goals such as, but not limited to, process improvement initiatives, ERP and boundary system maintenance and testing and ad hoc requests.

  • Administrative: You will complete administrative tasks such as the preparation and delivery of performance evaluations, monitoring team members’ workload and advocate and encourage team participation in Company initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • BS/BA in Accounting from an accredited university

  • Master’s degree in accounting a plus

  • CPA required

  • Experience performing financial accounting monitoring of key business performance metrics

  • Strong understanding of financial systems with ability to learn and master new system tools

  • Experience in automating manual processes

  • Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure

  • Capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members at all levels

  • Experience implementing best practices that require significant innovation for improving processes by applying advanced understanding of complex functional/technical and business issues and challenges

  • Embraces change driven by evolving business initiatives and maintains positivity when time-sensitive milestones shift

  • Willing and able to travel internationally for occasional business trips

Preferred experience:

  • Big 4 Accounting Firm experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience required

  • Strong accounting acumen working in a multinational company

  • Oracle/People Soft/SAP S4 HANA knowledge is a plus

  • Microsoft Office suite of applications

  • Operational accounting experience

  • Film and entertainment accounting experience
