The Revenue Platforms team within Delta IT supports technology solutions for a variety of Delta's flight products and services. Specifically, the team focuses on commercial transactions across channels including the Delta.com, Fly Delta App, searching and shopping for flights, and additional customer centric features such as selecting WiFi, upgraded seats, and more.

The IT Manager, Revenue Platforms is responsible for managing a team that supports all commercial transactions while driving strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and ability to drive a software engineering team to deliver projects to production. The manager deeply understands skills of a team of developers and software engineers as well as the challenges the team may encounter. This individual will also lead the team as they innovate through technical solutions.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manages the team members’ development, expectations, performance, while providing oversight and guidance on IT standards

  • Manages the learning and improvement journey of the team, assists with dependencies and roadblocks, and ensures and supports team's delivery.

  • Adjusts the team processes, listening to feedback and guiding the team through the changes.

  • Owns the production operation and monitoring of the system and is aware of its service level agreements.

  • Gives teams the autonomy to make decisions - based on their level of expertise and knowledge.

  • Builds a strong team culture that aligns with Delta’s core values.

  • Promotes accountability and operational excellence within teams.

  • Contribute to Delta ecosystem and expand knowledge beyond squads, contributing to communities, participate in strategic initiatives.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is preferred

  • 6+ years of experience with IT

  • 5+ years of experience in roles related to software engineering

  • 2+ years of experience managing technical teams

  • Strong leadership ability with a track record of developing people and achieving challenging objectives.

  • Experienced with leading transformation programs incorporating agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications.

  • Knowledge of the products and services regarding cloud platforms; ability to utilize related tools and technologies to develop cloud solutions and deploy applications on cloud platforms.

  • Ability to design and create automations that allow for process efficiencies and self-service into either the cloud or on prem environments.

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
