Amazon Learning and Development Program Manager, GES L&TD in Atlanta, Georgia

Description

Amazon is seeking a creative and driven Learning Program Manager with experience in instructional design in a corporate environment consisting of proper content structure and creating efficient and effective adult learning experiences. Learning Program Managers will support adult learners across the business by translating and transforming process information into instructional content delivered at time of need.

In this role, you will be responsible for researching, developing, and measuring training content effectiveness to support Learning & Talent Development initiatives. Utilizing instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate (ADDIE) instructional materials and programs. Lead the collaboration on content, design, and delivery with SMEs, project managers, and others as requested or required to produce sound instructional materials in accordance with solid instructional principles, current research, business objectives, and learning objectives. Demonstrate proficiency in creating learning objectives and activities geared for diverse learners.

Prioritize multiple concurrent projects and initiatives through the full instructional design process. This covers end-to-end research, curation of process variances, gap analysis, establishment of curriculum and enrollments within system, integration testing, and launch preparation. You will work with business stakeholders as well as subject matter experts to drive deep insights and go beyond compilation to determine customer content preferences, structure, and taxonomy needs to enable content usage and effective knowledge transfer. You will regularly identify, discuss, and bring forward issues or ideas to stakeholders to ensure programmatic success, while serving as hub for process changes and its effect to training and the learner. Identifying needed learning pathways and developing the required training content in varying modalities.

Key job responsibilities

• Collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and business teams to identify goals and outcomes for learning experiences.

• Design and develop performance-focused training content.

• Develop learning tools, performance support mechanisms, practice activities, scenario-based learning, online tutorials, and other materials to meet identified needs.

• Design and develop knowledge and performance assessments to ensure learner understanding.

• Design and develop online learning experiences that align with learning outcomes, apply evidence-based learning principles, and inform learner progress and success in online learning environments.

• Pursue a deep understanding of learner roles to ensure that learning solutions meet needs.

• Maintain knowledge of new developments in learning science, learning design, and learning technologies.

• Perform quality checks (alpha/beta testing) to ensure learning experience standards are met.

•Perform field research and be very hands-on; work directly with technical development teams, process owners and stakeholders to perform baseline on current content formats and processes.

• Conduct editorial reviews of training content and consult with subject matter experts on accuracy and direction.

• Use project management skills to define and meet project milestones, communicate issues and risks in a timely manner, and manage customer expectations.

• Travel may be required up to 25%-50%

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of instructional design experience

  • 3+ years as a learning designer a in a corporate environment

  • 3+ years using learning management systems for adult learners in a corporate environment

  • 3+ years proven experience in implementing innovative learning designs and development solutions within a fast-paced, global environment

  • 3+ years experience measuring program impact against pre-defined success metrics

  • 3+ years experience designing and tracking KPIs to reflect ROI on projects.

  • 3+ years experience using learning management and development systems and software such as Docebo, Cornerstone or Articulate360

  • 3+ years of experience in learning & development, talent management or related field in a corporate environment, that includes deep diagnostic and customized design efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Effective organizational skills with demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple programs at the same time

  • Experience in an environment which demands strong deliverables with the ability to identify problems and drive solutions

  • Experience facilitating meetings

  • Experience working with corporate workforce

  • Experience in developing sustainable solutions that solve for the needs of a team with diverse reach and responsibility

  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel

  • Experience creating and driving effective leadership development, employee relations, retention and reward programs

  • Experience influencing stakeholders without formal authority, across geographies and business units

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently

  • Acute attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment

  • Possess ability to learn new technologies, the curiosity to figure out how things work, and a passion for improving the experience of users

  • Obsessed about the customer experience; never settle for good enough, and continually inspire others to do better for the customer

  • Experience using project management platforms such as Smartsheet or Asana

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to take initiative, be proactive without waiting for direction

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
