Please review the following job description:

Serve in the primary support role for a Business Unit Chief Risk Officer (BUCRO) & Enablement Leader in the operating model for the Enablement team. Responsible for independent identification, aggregation, integration, and correlation of all eight risk types. Interact with and present periodically to senior executives within the Risk Management Organization (RMO) or Business Units. Work collaboratively with other Truist Risk Enablement Officers.

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Through robust 2nd line oversight, ensure compliant execution to the corporate risk management framework for all eight risk types. Aggregate risk across the BU CROs to identify thematic priorities for reporting and escalation.

  2. Serve as Enablement Leader “delegate” relative to low-risk activities relative to governance, risk framework and strategy meetings. Participate in working groups and councils.

  3. Assist with documentation of effective challenge.

  4. Execute issues management routines for the BU CROs in line with Operating Principals. Communicate to Enablement and BUCRO leadership regarding activities, trends, and events pertaining to tracked issues including Regulatory, Audit and Credit Risk Review activities as well as those self-identified by the LOB and ensure target dates are met and remediation plans are suitable.

  5. Execute on operations expectation for the enablement team including standardize BU CRO processes and routines relative to responsibilities for the BU CROs through the risk programs and technology expectations such as within the GRC Tool. This includes, but not limited to, issue reviews prior to Audit validation; effective challenge routines and documentation; review of acquisition analyses, incentive plans, strategic plans; and other Risk Program execution activities.

  6. Partner with BU CROs and Deputies to provide support in executing BU CRO activities in support of oversight of 1st line risk identification, escalation, and reporting. Assist the BUCRO with Operational Risk and Compliance analyses and effective challenge, including RCSA review, risk and control monitoring, risk reporting. Perform analyses and develop/prepare LOB oversight reporting, as needed.

  7. Promote various risk initiatives, including engagement in on-going Governance requirements and participation in regulatory activities.

  8. Complete special projects as directed by the Enablement Leader on a periodic basis.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. Undergraduate degree in finance or related field.

  2. Minimum 7 years of risk management or relevant line of business experience in financial services or related field.

  3. Broad risk and regulatory knowledge with an emphasis on: Credit, Market, Liquidity, Compliance, Operational, Reputation, Technology, and Strategic Risks.

  4. Strong communication skills.

  5. Ability to multi-task and drive change.

  6. Strong quantitative, governance, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Advanced graduate degree in Business, Finance, or equivalent science/academic field.

  2. High organization skills and advanced with establishing governance protocols and evidence of adherence to those protocols.

  3. Flexibility to occasionally travel to various business locations.

  4. FRM/CFA or equivalent advanced risk certification.
