Inspire Brands Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting in Atlanta, Georgia

Provide timely and accurate financial statements and other key financial documents to internal (e.g. Executive Management) and external users (Franchisees, Investors and Lenders). Prepare, review, adhere and maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls documentation and analysis, guiding and/or assisting with process improvement initiative.

This role sits onsite in our Atlanta Support Center 3 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare consolidated external financial statements including responsibility for completing the annual audited financial statements in coordination with the outside audit firm. This includes stand-alone brand reporting for franchisee disclosure documents and bank requirements.

  • Perform/assist with accounting for share-based compensation accounting, equity transactions, and joint ventures.

  • Oversee preparation of cash flow statements, income statements, balance sheets and equity roll forwards for inclusion in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Develop relationships with the brand and corporate finance teams and internal work groups to enhance internal and external reporting, including informing the finance team of the accounting implications of structuring various business transactions.

  • Prepare accounting disclosure and compliance checklists for quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements.

  • Assist the tax department and help provide information where needed with the tax provisions and related deferred tax accounts

  • Assist with accounting research, documentation, and implementation of new or enhanced accounting policies and subsequently monitor adherence to such policies.

  • Collaborate with the internal audit team in the development of appropriate internal controls that will comply with Sarbanes-Oxley and support the internal audit team during the testing of those controls.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year or Graduates degree in accounting

  • Certified Public Accountant

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred, including 2-4 years of Big 4 audit experience and progressive technical accounting experience in private industry.

  • Experience in performing advanced technical accounting research and analysis, and documentation of alternatives and conclusions.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP concepts and the ability to communicate those concepts to other stakeholders in the Company.

  • Experience working as part of and contributing to a larger team, previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • Understanding of public company reporting and filing requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES

  • Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Strong technical GAAP research skills

  • Knowledge and experience of current SEC rules and regulations

  • Aptitude for learning new systems

  • Ability to prepare financial statements, specifically heavy experience with the Cash Flow Statement

  • Ability to work independently and meet multiple, concurrent and aggressive deadlines

  • Positive attitude with the willingness to accept flexibility in assignments and the desire to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to excel

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of Oracle financial systems

  • Knowledge and understanding of Hyperion/FCCS reporting

  • Knowledge of Certent Equity Management Software
