Job Overview

The Clinical Nurse Database Coordinator is a nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for oversight of the department-specific database(s) which provides clinicians and administrators with valid and reliable outcome measures to help monitor clinical improvement and benchmark with other comparable departments nationally.The Database Coordinator develops and maintains the organizational structure necessary to contribute data to the comparative database, utilize data for quality improvement purposes, and share unit and comparative results with their department and other key stakeholders. Responsible for direct abstraction of data from Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), recording and reporting of patient data, and data entry into forms, electronic Case Report Forms (CRFs), and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems, as well as responding to data queries in a timely fashion and auditing/cleaning database entries.

Department Name: Heart Institue Administration Job Status: Full-time 80 hours Shift: M-F, hybrid work upon completin of onboarding and training. No weekends or holidays. Data harvest blackout dates 2x per year.

Qualifications

EDUCATION- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). EXPERIENCE - Three years of nursing experience relevant to assignment. Preferred - Experience or focus on Acquired or Congenital Heart Disease Surgical Data Abstraction EQUIVALENCY - An Associate's degree in Nursing plus two additional years of experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree. CERTIFICATION(S)- BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire. LICENSURE - Registered Nurse Licensure (RN).
