Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and foster collaborations with community-based Veteran, military, and first responder organizations, local and state government agencies, healthcare organizations, and other organizations.

  • Work closely with MIBH Leadership on strategies regarding engagement opportunities and execution.

  • Lead community engagement and collaborate with leadership and Marketing & Communications Specialist to create and evaluate the marketing and promotional efforts for these programs.

  • Coordinate, set up, and participate in events, programs, and initiatives to engage military/Veteran/First responder communities in MIBH Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) education and treatment.

  • Coordinate outreach and community engagement related to MIBH.

  • Prepare and conduct presentations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Social Science, health-related discipline, or Business.

  • Two (2) years of professional experience in clinical or community engagement serving military, Veterans, or first responders.

  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of professional experience in clinical or community engagement serving military, Veterans or first responders

  • Experience building and implementing Veteran/military/first responder community engagement programs.

  • Experience coordinating multi-site community projects.

  • Experience serving military; Veterans; first responder communities.

  • Experience working with non-profit organizations.

Other Requirements:

  • This role is expected to travel up to 25%.

  • Occasionally, this role will require work on weekends for events.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Proven track record in problem resolution.

Join the Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) as a Community Engagement Specialist. This is a full-time university staff role. The Specialist will play a vital role within MIBH and will be responsible for building and maintaining internal and external relationships and identifying ways to connect the internal and external and campus communities to advance the mission of the MIBH. This position will develop and manage the MIBH Alumni Program.

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

The Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) provides specialty care for military Veterans, First Responders, and retired athletes struggling with mild-to-moderate traumatic brain injuries (including concussion) and changes in psychological health. Patients at the MIBH are treated as a person first. We welcome Veterans of any discharge status. Our intensive, outpatient program combines the best tools in traditional rehabilitation with complementary medicines so you can heal. The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $51,438 - $65,429.
