Role Overview

We're looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, changing environment. As the Associate Director Assoc Dir, Digital Disaster Preparedness & Recovery Team, you will play a crucial role in preparing RTX to effectively respond to and recover from disasters, including cybersecurity attack on digital infrastructure, minimizing disruption and maintaining operational continuity. This role requires a forward-thinking leader with experience in leading preparedness planning and recovery of critical business processes to assure business continuity.

What You Will Do:

The Associate Director, Digital Disaster Preparedness & Recovery is responsible for preparing for disasters of all kinds and leading recovery of all digital functions, including mission critical applications across every RTX global site, factory, and product center within RTX Corp, Enterprise Services (ES), Pratt Whitney, Collins Aerospace and Raytheon for the purpose of assuring business continuity and resiliency. You will establish, manage and annually exercise a comprehensive Disaster Preparedness program, including Business Impact Assesments (BIA’s) to comply with RTX policies and standards. This role reports into the Executive Director Digital Risk and has responsibilities that include:

  • Development of a comprehensive Digital Disaster Preparedness & Recovery Program for ES, Pratt Whitney, Collins Aerospace and Raytheon. Test and update annually.

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all disaster preparedness and recovery initiatives.

  • Conduct of annual Business Impact Assessments to identify and rank critical functions and systems based on necessity. Identify vulnerabilities and threats to understand risk.

  • Conduct annual table top exercises to test controls and countermeasures, communications strategy and recovery plans are working effectively. Implement lessons learned to enhance future preparedness and response times.

  • Create contingency strategies to ensure systems and critical functions, including those operated by 3rd party suppliers can brought on line quickly.

  • Document business continuity plans to outline recovery procedures/solutions by role to assure effective emergency response.

  • Serve as Digital primary point of contact during a disaster, coordinating with internal departments and key RTX stakeholders including CISOs and CIOs.

  • Develop and update policies related to disaster preparedness and recovery and assure they are effectively communicated to all stakeholders.

  • Effectively manage communications and statuses across relevant stakeholders (from senior leaders to technical SMEs). Build presentations/content adjusted to a given audience on program strategy and status

  • Establish and maintain metrics and scorecards to be shared with senior leadership.

  • Manage both direct and matrixed resources to accomplish key deliverables.

Qualification You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 12 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum 10 years experience.

  • 6+ years of significant and demonstrated experience in leading large-scale programs or initiatives in multi-national organizations.

  • 3+ years of experience with or within a cybersecurity organization

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) required.

  • US Citizen or US Person required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Extensive experience in business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR)

  • Deep understanding of aerospace & defense industry, including its unique regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g ITAR, DFARS, NIST)

  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role, including leading cross-functional large scale projects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal team, external partners and key stakeholders, including Senior Executives.

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
