Applied Materials Emergency Response Team Coordinator in Austin, Texas

Austin, TX - Emergency Response Team Coordinator (B3)

The Austin Emergency Coordinator (EC) will provide hands-on subject matter expertise and leadership in support of Applied Materials’ global Emergency Response Team (ERT) program. This position will collaborate with individuals from all departments to implement, maintain, and execute the ERT program for Applied Materials in the Austin region. This position requires the ability to successfully align and execute Global ERT protocols at the Austin site while continuing to maintain buy-in from site leadership.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, coordinate, and advise the Austin volunteer Emergency Response Team (VERT) program for existing and new facilities in the region.

  • Respond to emergency incidents on campus to stop the emergency and mitigate risks to people, facilities, and the environment.

  • Perform a variety of functions during emergency events, including Incident Commander and First Aid provider.

  • Ensure appropriate internal and external notifications are made in a timely manner during emergency incidents.

  • Complete and review comprehensive ERT incident reports and reports written by other program members.

  • Professionally interface with local outside emergency services, company management, employees, and ERT volunteers.

  • Provide ERT training for medical and response to the Austin volunteer team members

  • Provide emergency response and preparedness training as well as awareness communication for Austin employees.

  • Develop and conducts regular emergency response ERT medical exercises and regulatory building evacuation and shelter drills.

  • Develop and manage the Austin ERT program budget.

  • Ensure site Emergency Response plans, activities, and operations are carried out in compliance with applicable local, state, federal regulations.

  • Effectively coordinate and manage assigned ERT programs or projects.

  • Establish a protocol for ERT equipment ordering/resupply with required inspection and maintenance of ERT equipment and supplies.

  • Develop and write administrative and/or response related procedures as required. In collaboration with the Global ERT management.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

  • Establish protocol for proper collection and disposal of bio waste products.

  • Maintain established annual program recognition event and tracking of team members years of service.

  • Track team member participation and attendance per established requirements.

  • Recruit volunteers as needed for proper balance of coverage and develop ERT talent for continued program growth.

  • Assess building dynamics (i.e., employee movement, headcount, layouts, etc.) and adapt ERT protocols accordingly to provide adequate site response and support.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have authorization to work in the USA (Required)

  • High school diploma (Required)

  • BA/BS in Emergency Management, Business Resiliency Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or related field. (Preferred).

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ work experience in professional or volunteer emergency response team or disaster response.

  • Strong program management and execution skills (Required)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Required)

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Discipline to solve complex problems, with the ability to resolve issues and drive solutions that create win-win situations

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to navigate complex organizations

  • Occasional travel up to 10%.

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, and demonstrated experience (Required)

  • Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-B) (Preferred).

  • Incident Command System (ICS) course 100 and 200 and on the job ICS experience (Preferred).

  • OSHA HAZMAT Operations Level (Preferred).

  • Knowledge of Federal and State safety and environmental-related regulations (Preferred).

  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing environment or equivalent high hazard environment (Preferred).

  • Experience conducting formal inspections, e.g., hazardous materials or safety equipment (Preferred)

*The work schedule is 5 days a week onsite in Austin, Texas. Due to 24/7 site operations, you may occasionally be required to work off-hours and weekends or called in for emergency incidents.

U.S. Salary Range:

$88,000.00 - $121,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
