Assists in the preparation of all types of food items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Able to read recipes, comprehend them, handle conversions on recipes, and execute recipe. Responsible for independently preparing anywhere from five eight recipes for a meal period for up to 150 portions a recipe in a high-volume establishment. Batch cooks recipes to the needs of business, and being able to time the batches to reduce waste and provide the freshest product possible. Reports recipe discrepancies to chef.Assist chef team in overseeing running of kitchen, cook assignments, paperwork including production paperwork, training of new cooks.Assists in cleaning the whole kitchen area, kitchen equipment, refrigerators, freezers, and storage area. Responsible for efficient organization and placement of prepped and stored items. Properly utilizes, stores, and labels cooked food and food items.Oversees food display and garnish on all serving lines.Advises supervisor of kitchen equipment repair or replacement.Other duties as assigned.
