Lead MA of Float TeamProvide occasional working supervision to non-licensed medical and/or clerical office support personnel for clerical functions or other non-clinical activities.Provide support and guidance to patients who are completing pre-clinic surveys. Work with a multidisciplinary team of providers to identify and schedule patient visits. Follow-up with patients who have not completed surveys to identify and address potential barriers.Set patient expectations about team-based model and clinic experience. Attend multidisciplinary case conference and team huddles to convey patient's situation and background to the team. As indicated by the patient, attend visit to serve as an advocate and combine treatment recommendations at the end of the visit into a viable care plan.Perform a variety of duties to include (but not limited to); collecting vital signs, conducting patient assessments during clinic visits, assisting providers during patient exams, scheduling patient appointments, pre-certifying procedures, answering patient phones by collecting data to forward to the nurse for triage as needed.Establish follow-up of care plan based on preferences and choices (e.g. virtual monitoring, virtual touch points, or in-person/phone follow-up). Facilitate patient's journey through the healthcare system (scheduling, referrals, and obtaining medications). Provide reminders for care plan tasks and support behavior modification.Support staff and patient safety throughout clinics. Assist in maintaining clinic cleanliness of patient waiting areas/lobbies throughout the day. Organize the clinic space to improve efficiency and flow.Facilitate patient flow and communicate delays with patients and clinical staff. Help patients navigate throughout the clinic facilities by giving clear instructions, directions and resources available to them. Assist patients with mobility issues and collaborate with patient transportation. Work to exceed patient and caregivers' expectations.Schedule and lead staff meetings to discuss issues, policies and procedures, and staff development.Ensure site follows HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, State and Federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Coordinate with senior staff for quality and compliance. Manage point of care testing (laboratory) compliance and regulations, nursing care quality, and medical record documentation for compliance.Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods. Perform patient assessments/reassessments including triaging. Develop and Implement staffing plans which support patient experience and staff, along with optimal operations.Serve as the first point of contact for patients served in the IPUs. When appropriate, refer patients to external services to ensure their needs are fully met. Support and assist providers during patient exams, treatments, or procedures. Maintain and restock supplies and equipment for patient exam and treatment rooms.Extend a warm and caring approach to all clinic patients. Assist in patient scheduling for multiple specialty integrated practice units, surgeries and diagnostic imaging.Other related functions as assigned.MA TrainerAssist with onboarding new hires in the clinicServe as preceptor and resource for newly-hired medical assistants and medical assistant externs, actively participating in their integration into the department. Review potential training opportunities and make suggestions for improvement.Act as resource person to assist clinical employees in successfully completing job-specific orientationAssist in planning, coordinating and conducting required training and in-service programmingParticipates in performance improvement plans as needed for retrainingMarginal/Incidental FunctionsOther related functions as assigned.
