The Office of the Governor is looking for a Policy Data Analyst (Research Specialist I) to work in the Budget and Policy Division.

What Youll Earn

What Youll Do

This is a job that performs routine (journey-level) budget, policy and program research, analyses and writing as needed to support and disseminate the Governors statewide agenda. Works on a variety of policy issues with a focus on public education. Performs all related duties as assigned and demonstrates sustained understanding and commitment to the Governors philosophy.

  • Assists Governors Advisors in researching, evaluating and preparing comprehensive analyses of state agency budgets, proposed budget revisions, reports, issuing briefs, and written materials on complex state fiscal, policy and programmatic issues.
  • Assists Governors Advisors in program planning, development and implementation.
  • Assists in evaluating agency operations and business issues and drafts timely and factual reports of findings and recommendations.
  • Assists in the preparation of administrative reports, studies and specialized research projects.
  • Engages community and professional groups through constituent and stakeholder meetings.
  • Actively contributes to the development and advancement of the Governors policy priorities, working in coordination within the Governors executive staff, press office, appointments staff, and legislative staff, as well as with legislative offices and state agencies.
How Youll Qualify
  • Graduation from high school; and

``` - Two (2) years of professional experience in program evaluation, research, and the collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data.

Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Youre a Great Fit with
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in economics, business administration, political science, government, data analytics, finance, accounting, or a related degree; and
  • At least one (1) year experience working in the legislative process, and/or conducting research and policy analysis.
