We are looking for a Transportation Manager to join us on our journey to make it drastically easier for customers to find, choose, afford, and engage with the services, products, and professionals they need to get and stay healthy! Amazon Pharmacy’s Transportation Managers play a crucial role in exceeding expectations and providing a superb customer experience; critical to Amazon’s success, which is built on a foundation of customer obsession, and innovation. The Transportation Manager is responsible for all building and maintaining transportation logistics, contractions and processes for Amazon Pharmacy.

Role can be located in any Amazon Health Hub office: Phoenix, Seattle, Austin and Boston.

Key job responsibilities

• Design and build transportation capacity strategy with a 1-2 year horizon, and carrier allocation to secure sufficient capacity especially peak seasons and overall drive success on costs, reliability, services, safety

• Promotes continuous improvement initiatives with performance team, carriers, operations to improve safety, cost efficiency, reliability, high standard service and sustainability

• Coordinate the business relationships with carriers spanning resolution of operational issues to supporting commercial and contractual negotiations

• Cross-functional work with the Supply Chain, Warehouses and the Retail organizations to determine future demand for Transportation resources. Translate the aforementioned into accurate capacity plans and coordinate market strategy and budget planning along with senior Finance partners.

• Maintain accurate reporting on key metrics for the market, prepare and coordinate regular business reviews with leadership and internal stakeholders (WBR/MBR/QBR).

• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ year’s working experience ideally gained in Transportation, e.g. in a similar role within a logistics provider or retailer

  • Completed degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, Mathematics or similar field

  • Prior experience leading & developing teams

  • Prior experience with negotiations, logistics procurement, and tender management

  • Prior Contract Management experience

  • Fluency in English

  • Advanced computer proficiency in Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • MBA Preferred or advanced technical degree

  • 5+ year’s working experience ideally gained in Transportation, e.g. in a similar role within a logistics provider or retailer

  • Prior experience with negotiations, logistics procurement, and tender management

  • Prior Contract Management experience

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
