This is an extended duration posting for current and future openings for this position. Applications will be continuously assessed.
The Maryland Department of Transportation's Maryland Transit Administration is seeking courteous, customer-service-focused full-time Bus Operators. Qualifying candidates must be at least 21 years and possess the ability to satisfactorily complete the bus operator candidate assessments, background checks, and medical examination including the federally mandated Department of Transportation (DOT) physical. The most desirable candidates are those who currently possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger Bus and Air Brakes endorsements. A copy of the CDL license will be verified prior to taking the assessments.
During training and after, CDL license/permit holders with valid Passenger and Air Brake endorsements with no restrictions earn an hourly rate of $25.95

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 21 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED). Must have two (2) years of continuous employment (with the same employer) or a combined two(2) years of verifiable full or part-time student status and employment history.
A minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience is preferred.

Licenses & Certifications
A current valid CDL License/Permit with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements with no restrictions is required.
NOTE
Applicants must submit a CURRENT copy of their Complete Driving Record (NOT more than 30 days old), (NOT the 36 months driving record) available from MVA with their application to be considered for this position. Please upload your driving record, or application will be considered incomplete.

Applicants Must successfully complete a DOT Physical to determine their ability to perform the essential functions of the position; applicants are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations 49-Federal Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Testing Protocols and Federal Transit Administration Alcohol Testing Rules. Qualified applicants will be subject to criminal background and reference checks.
