Johns Hopkins University Billing Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

We are seeking a Billing Coordinator to understand and access PB charging, coding the HB case, and releasing it to bill. This person will ensure all billing materials are timely and will make necessary corrections to codes and posts as necessary.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviews daily Held Charge, CCUB, Suspense, Unread, Unsigned and Untracked reports to ensure billing issues are appropriately addressed.

  • Brings instances of recurring errors/issues to the supervisor's attention.

  • Responsible for working and maintaining the IR and DNB WQ for JHH monitoring the JHMBC.

  • Works the research WQ. This includes coding and billing the HB & PB charges to the grant after extensive investigation to ensure charges route correctly.

  • Billing Lutathera patients on the HB and PB side to ensure timely billing.

  • Codes and posts consult for IR PB billing.

  • Making corrections to charges as necessary both for HB & PB.

  • Alerts supervisor to any backlogs in processing for the department and may suggest time frame for appropriate completion of backlog.

  • Treats customers (guests, patients, physicians, and other employees) with courtesy, respect, and caring behaviors. Anticipates customer needs and initiates action to meet those needs and responds quickly and appropriately to customer requests.

  • Works cooperatively within own unit/department and with other units and departments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • One-year work experience required in a similar service-oriented industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic medical terminology knowledge.

  • Basic working knowledge of lCD and CPT coding.

  • Knowledge of Keane Patient Accounting System, Microsoft Access, and RIS preferred.

Role/Level/Range: ATO 37.5/02/OC

Starting Salary Range: $15.50 - $25.00 HRLY ($45,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
