The Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Operational Risk group is responsible for overseeing the operational risk and control framework across the Wealth Management business. This team partners with key stakeholders throughout the organization to execute independent risk monitoring functions, support process and control improvement, provide tactical and strategic reporting, execute incident management protocols, facilitate issue and action plan management and coordinate new operational risk programs in partnership with the business as well as Firm Operational Risk Management.

This role will provide broad exposure to to business lines across Wealth Management and focus on persistent improvement of Wealth Management issues and action plans, mitigating risk and improving the control environment within Wealth Management. The responsibilities of the role are a combination of business as usual processes and discrete projects that are strategic in nature. Specific duties within the WM Operational risk team will include:

· Assist in the creation and presentation of core Wealth Management Operational Risk metrics and reporting protocols in partnership with key stakeholders

· Supporting the creation and delivery of issue and action plan management reporting to internal team management and senior Wealth Management stakeholders

· Monitoring high and moderate risk issues to ensure that remediation is on-track or that appropriate escalations have been made to address impediments to completion

· Executing closure verification of action plans to validate that remediation work has been completed and is supported by sufficient evidence

· Updating team procedures, tools and job aids to help facilitate effective issue and action management within the Operational Risk group and more broadly across Wealth Management; this includes the provision of training to key stakeholders

· Support a variety of operational risk management initiatives and special projects, including: issue and action plan tracking, incident management, business activity monitoring, management reporting, audit inquiry response, targeted remediation support, etc.

A successful candidate will be able to support a variety of operational risk management initiatives and must be able to manage changing priorities, make sound decisions, complete their assignments and proactively communicate where there are potential risks to the Firm. Attention to detail and accuracy is critical, given the executive audience for much of the team’s work. A candidate needs to be collaborative and able to build effective working relationships with all levels across the organization.

· Experience in Financial Services, preferably within audit, internal examinations and/or operational risk disciplines · Strong project management skills with the ability to work well within a team · Ability to build and maintain a network of contacts and coordinate with a large number of stakeholders · Solid interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication · Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize and work under pressure and to tight deadlines · Strong analytical and problem solving skills (critical thinking ability) · Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint · Bachelor’s degree
