RTX is embarking on a payroll transformation of Global Payroll. We are looking for a dynamic Payroll Transition & Project Leader in RTX ES This role will be responsible for driving us towards our new Payroll operating model. You will ensure that the transition away from current state is implemented successfully and in line with our defined project plan. This skillset, along with proven leadership experience, analytical skills, and a strong desire for collaboration to enhance the overall employee experience, is optimal. The ideal candidate will have experience in global payroll operations and a desire to operate with a mindset of accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement with the goal of optimizing the employee experience.

This role will support the People and Payroll Services team in aligning with the overall company initiatives related to its recently deployed CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) operating system with primary focus on standardizing operations within our processes, systems, and tools to drive process efficiencies, compliance, and quality to improve operating efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Work with the global and in-country payroll, HR and Finance teams to define clear target operating model.

  • Create transitional plan in alignment with payroll implementation to outline project expectations, scope, schedule, and budget requirements. Define a log of critical activities that will drive projects deliverables

  • Create success criteria to measure success of project deliverables and completion targets

  • Produce required documentation to support each key stage of the plan

  • Coordinating planned activity from an operational, technical and financial perspective with adherence to required compliance and control measures.

  • Facilitate meetings/workshops to support the transition and provide key stakeholders with clear insight of changes and their impacts.

  • Provide management updates and projects review log, raise immediately any issues impacting the projects

  • Effective management of associated risks and issues and dependencies.

  • Work with the Change Lead to ensure plans are created and to support with deployment of employee communications.

  • Identify and drive process efficiencies, standardizations, and compliance for Payroll Operations to ensure process quality and excellence through automation and process enhancements.

  • Assist People and Payroll Services and collaborate with other key stakeholders with cross functional projects and key initiatives.

  • Implementing a scalable infrastructure for advanced payroll reporting, analysis, and forecasting accuracy

  • Preparing recurring and ad-hoc reports as needed by senior management, finance and human resources.

  • Support internal and external audits inclusive of proper documentation, as required.

  • Ensuring systems and controls are set up accurately within various payroll systems to ensure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines

  • Support execution of long-term business strategy and operational direction.

  • Supporting the implementation of Time & Attendance system and other HRIS solutions/initiatives

  • Assist with development of operational budget and adherence to financial plan.

  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or similar field

  • 10 plus years leadership experience; ability to manage a large, multi-country payroll team

  • Global Payroll experience and/or CPP, preferred

  • At least 5 years' or 2 complete lifecycles experience leading operational/shared service transformation projects.

  • Good understanding, and practical experience of project management practices and procedures.

  • Designing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and business continuity plans.

  • Strong working experience with cross team collaboration

  • Strong working experience with vendor process oversight

  • Familiarity with Global employment tax regulations

  • Familiarity with corporate benefits and related taxation (e.g. equity, qualified plan)

  • Ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership

  • Ability to handle complex employee payroll inquiries/escalations

  • Strong analytical, organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Knowledge of Excel, Workday, ServiceNow and other efficiency tools

  • Flexibility to work in different time zones.

  • Domestic (India) one time relocation will be provided.

  • Candidate should have the legal status to work in India. The company will not sponsor work / employment permit.
