The Senior Associate Change Control Analyst works on less complex change requests, ensuring the continuous availability of IT services. This role assists with the coordination and governing requests for simple changes. They ensure that all changes introduced in the live production environments of clients happen in a controlled and coordinated manner, ensuring minimal disruption of services. This role follows standardised methods and procedures for efficient handling of all changes.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Implements the change control strategy, processes, policies and methods and applies and executes these accordingly.

  • Applies principles and disciplines as prescribed by ITIL to the process.

  • Takes control of the complete change management lifecycle for simple changes and manages this process to successful execution.

  • Receives and process requests for changes (RFC) on a regular basis and ensure that these are classified and prioritised based on importance, impact and complexity.

  • Assesses the risk and technical impact associated with the change and ensure that the correct technical team resolves or deals with the matter.

  • Plans, coordinates and prioritises changes based on relatedness and priority and use schedules to track, manage and report on the fulfilment of change requests.

  • Participates in review boards as required to review the success of changes implemented and to conduct an analysis of the process.

  • Reports on metrics that relate to the reporting of the volume of changes, types of changes and no failures of changes.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent

  • ITIL certification

Required Experience:

  • Moderate level of experience in a change control and/or release management role in an IT services environment

  • Moderate level of experience working with internal and external stakeholders

  • Moderate level of experience analysing processes and recommending improvements
