As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in managing the customer experience elements as well as the complex systems behind them. You will have the opportunity to support one of the most critical technical stacks in Amazon and work on tasks that helps to improve tech productivity and efficiency of the org.

Responsibilities -

  • Be a technical lead on team and act as a subject matter expert for one or more services

  • Be viewed as a support leader throughout the larger organization and are regularly engaged to work on cross-team planning

  • Provide support of incoming tickets, including extensive troubleshooting tasks, with responsibilities covering multiple products, features and services

  • Understand the business impact of support decisions

  • Drive the team to improve operational efficiency for all services through the identification and development of slas, metrics, monitors, procedures, tools, and documentation

  • Work on operations and maintenance driven coding projects.

  • Develop tools to aid operations and maintenance

  • Software deployment support in staging and production environments

  • System and Support status reporting

  • Ownership of one or more Digital products or components

  • Mentor other team members in technologies/process/best practices.

  • Independently drive multi-team projects including requirement analysis, business purpose, timelines, managing stakeholder expectations and timeline.

  • Own scaling our systems, eliminating root causes for reported issues, proactively testing and eliminating issues

  • Building tools to identify and resolve customer-facing issues

  • Take a role in the strategic direction of the team

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of software development, or 4+ years of technical support experience

  • Experience scripting in modern program languages

  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems

  • Experience in agile/scrum or related collaborative workflow

  • Experience troubleshooting and documenting findings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of distributed applications/enterprise applications

  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system

  • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting RESTful web API calls
