Responsibilities :

OnSemi is seeking a Director, System Validation Lead, NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, Power Management, to join our growing team in Bengaluru, India. This group is responsible for development of Power management products including DC-DC PMIC/POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, LED drivers, SiC drivers, Switches and efuses for consumer, industrial and automotive applications. In this role, you will focus on the following:

• Manage, hire, and mentor a diverse team of experienced and junior validation engineers

• Lead, motivate, provide training, and create career growth opportunities for the team

• The candidate will lead the system validation for all the product lines: DC-DC PMIC/POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, LED drivers, SiC drivers, Switches and efuse across multiple locations involving USA and Europe

• To drive methodical device debugging, design validation and failure analysis techniques

• To develop business insights, drive open discussions with business & technology leaders and drive decisions impacting Test & Validation execution

• To present analysis and conclusions to internal customers and business leaders in a comprehensive and effective manner.

• Understanding of classic mainstream power conversion systems and topologies (Flyback, PFC, LLC), PMIC/POL, Multiphase converters, LED drivers, SiC drivers will be added advantage.

• Leading end to end validation effort, which includes test plan development, schedule management, hardware design, debugs report generation.

• Good understanding of power systems, power electronics and analog fundamentals.

• The candidate will be able to work as part of a large and focused team of engineers and will be able to collaborate successfully as needed with marketing, application, product definers, design architects, digital verification, project management, and digital and analog design teams in multiple worldwide geographies

• Understand project goals, create a realistic schedule and resource plan, track execution schedule to plan, monitor progress, and provide full clarity to the team on the goals and objectives

• Identify, recommend, and implement new systems, tools, processes, and technologies to improve silicon and system validation, reuse organizational processes and decision-making

• Lead and support Customer issues, Production issues, FW and System development, Failure Analysis

Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 18 years of experience, or MS + 15 years of experience in working and leading system validation for Power Management IC/Solutions

• The ideal candidate should have thorough understanding of Power management IC architecture, design and must have taken these to production

• Experience in developing test suites and system validation for ASIC/Mixed signal ICs for various Power Converters such as multiphase converter, DC-DC PMIC/POL, AC-DC converters and LED drivers

• Good understanding of topologies and architectures for Constant-on-time, Peak, and Valley Current/Voltage Mode control mechanism, Hysteretic, Multi-Phase Controllers, and Smart Power Stages

• Solid track record of releasing complex Power ICs to market

• Goal and outcome-focused with the ability to handle multiple projects within the team

• Ability to clearly articulate issues, challenges, and concerns to all levels of management

• Must have good written and verbal cross-functional communication skills
