Qualification : University degree in sustainability, environmental, social sciences, or related area preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sustainability Manager role will support the creation, implementation, and managing the Company’s sustainability agenda, its alignment with Diageo ‘Society 2030: Spirit of Progress’ ambitions, drive projects/programs across value chain and support disclosures/reporting in-line with India & Global requirements. The role will report to the ‘Head Sustainability’, while working closely across functional teams.

Environmental Standards [GRMS], Procedures and Policy Implementation and Governance

  • Responsible for implementing ESG policies and management systems, managing and monitor ESG risks, developing internal controls and measurement systems.

  • Strong knowledge on Environmental standards/procedures and should have an experience in implementing these standards at Site.

  • Monitor and validate GRMS Non-Compliances and help to resolve these NCs through audits.

Diageo Society 2030 Ambitions.

  • Monitor, report and manage environmental performance across operations and the value chain covering GHG inventory, water, emissions, waste management.

  • Ability to define, set environmental targets, monitor performance, support identifying opportunities to achieve the targets.

  • Drive/execute projects contributing to Diageo sustainability ambitions viz., Net zero carbon, water positivity, zero waste to landfill and sustainable packaging.

ESG Data Reporting & Governance

  • ESG data management across locations and conduct verification, compilation and perform analysis reports as required for management reviews.

  • Strong understanding and experience on developing ESG Reporting as per India and Global standards/framework [like GRI, BRSR or equivalent standards].

  • Strong understanding and experience on handling sustainability related external rating disclosures – CDP, MSCI, DJSI.

  • Expertise in performing analysis of the data collated and discuss with concerned stakeholders for any anomalies and correct if any reporting error and forward the necessary data to ESG Reporting team.

Functional Competencies:

  • Knowledge of sustainability standards/frameworks - BRSR, GRI, IR, UN SDGs etc.

  • Experience working with sustainability data management tool like Enablon.

  • Prior experience of sustainability/integrated report development, materiality, and stakeholder engagement

  • Strong understanding of ESG and climate change related regulations, technologies, and best practices
