Diageo Senior Manager - Employee Relations in Bangalore, India

Purpose of Position

To Own and Provide end to end ER support for Diageo India and its subsidiaries

The Senior Manager - Employee Relations is responsible for overseeing and managing workplace relationships, resolving conflicts, and ensuring adherence to company policies. They collaborate with HR, legal, and other departments to create a positive and inclusive work environment while handling employee grievances and conducting investigations when necessary. This role involves developing and implementing employee relations programs, providing guidance to managers, and staying abreast of employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective employee engagement and conflict resolution.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders and HR teams to develop and implement employee relations strategies & programs aligned with company objectives.

  • Investigate and resolve employee concerns, incidents, grievances, and disciplinary matters in a fair, confidential, and timely manner.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of Indian labor & employment laws and regulations, ensuring company policies and practices are compliant.

  • Analyze employee relations data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement proactive solutions.

  • Advise management on employee relations best practices and provide guidance on handling sensitive situations.

  • Manage the employee relations budget and ensure efficient utilization of resources.

  • Stay updated on current trends and legal developments in employee relations.

  • Collaborate with other HR departments on initiatives related to employee engagement, retention, and performance management.

  • Manage and guide labour litigations across India locations through timely guidance to the Unit HRMs / HRBPs, appointment of advocates, decisions on appeals, finalising drafts and other legal documents including guidance on out of court settlements etc.

  • Provide POSH administration end to end across Diageo India and its subsidiaries.

  • Be single point of contact for all ER matters and coordinate with Legal department on all matters pertaining to HR interface with Legal.

  • Conduct / facilitate training on ER and compliance topics for employees and people managers.

  • Provide ER oversight for developing and amending employee policies

Qualification & Experience

  • Full time Graduate in Law / LLB

  • MBA / MSW from a well-known institute is preferred

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in ER roles across leading MNCs

  • Hands on experience of managing labour litigations in multiple locations, holding conference with advocates.

  • Had previously led and managed employee related investigations.

  • End to end knowledge and experience of Employment laws compliance in India.
