Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description

Trinnex is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our growing team. Trinnex is building next generation tools that integrate sensor/IoT data, models, geospatial data and machine learning to solve unique engineering and environmental issues.

In this role, you will work within an agile software development team and maintain a leading role in assuring quality within our product development and testing processes. The QA Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing tests, which may include manual, exploratory, and automated testing. Any defects discovered must be thoroughly documented, and corrective actions defined and coordinated with the rest of the development team for resolution. The QA Engineer plays a crucial role in our product development process and resulting success. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, the ideal candidate will be skilled in quality assurance testing, related testing environments and test automation, as well as a thorough understanding of software development life cycles.

Responsibilities in this role include:

• Discover bugs within software through exploratory and automated testing

• Identify, isolate, and track bugs throughout testing lifecycle

• Review user interfaces for consistency and functionality

• Document test cases

• Record test progress and associated results

• Identify any potential problems that users might encounter

• Develop automated tests

• Create product test plans

• Perform and document risk analysis

• Develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness

• Liaise with developers and product managers to identify system requirements

• Drive innovation and streamline overall testing processes

• Research and analyze product features being tested

• Research new tools, technologies, and testing processes

Skills and Abilities

• Proven work experience in software quality assurance

• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes

• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases

• Experience with both white box and black box testing

• Experience with automated testing tools

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Clear and accurate written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree; 6 years of relevant experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting

• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus

• Experience leading or mentoring junior staff
