R&D SENIOR ENGINEER, PACKAGE DEVELOPMENT

This position reports into NA PACKAGING Research and Development Director and is based at Bangkok, Thailand or Shanghai, China.

What You Will Do

The position is responsible for:

• Connect with regional packaging teams to align regional priorities with enterprise-wide platforms and standardization opportunities.

• Support global projects by strategizing and executing consumer-centric value realization opportunities, meeting design, quality, cost, risk, sustainability, functionality, and manufacturability objectives.

• Lead initiatives to identify efficiencies and implement innovative packaging solutions, including new applicable technologies within and outside the industry.

• Utilize Project Management approaches and digital predictive assessments to support key initiatives and influence project outcomes.

• Develop strategic technical direction in alignment with business strategy.

• Lead technical problem resolution and demonstrate superior understanding of packaging and packing technologies.

• Represent the department on cross-functional teams and manage projects with cross-functional and cross-regional involvement.

• Influence resource and budget allocation, provide progress reports to senior management, and ensure alignment within the department and with business strategy.

• Lead growth-based programs focused on packaging and raw material costs.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; post-graduate studies or certificate in Packaging Sciences/Engineering or equivalent.

• 5 years of experience with BS, 4 years with MS, or 2 years with PhD.

• Technical understanding of packaging component manufacturing processes.

• Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.

• Experience in large cosmetic consumer goods and global brand restages.

• Strong technical and leadership skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Experience with Industrial Design.

• Problem-solving skills, adaptability, and attention to detail.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Commitment to quality results and meeting deadlines.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
