Job Purpose/Overview

The Production & Service Lead is responsible for leading the day-to-day service operations as assigned by the Service Supervisor. This role will work in a team environment, to configure, test, assemble, repair, and continuously improve the products that we build. In addition, this position is accountable for improving the process in which our products are serviced by assisting in the development of training procedures and process improvements. This role will work alongside the department Supervisor to ensure daily service schedules and department KPI’s operations are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and guides coworkers to assist and improve processes and procedures within the department.

  • Assemble, test, repair, and troubleshoot products within SDx portfolio.

  • Responsible for hardware inspections to ensure quality assurance and appropriate steps are followed.

  • Interpret and apply information from technical manuals; communicate on technical issues with individuals with varying degrees of computer familiarity.

  • Provide direction and work assignments to Production/Repair Technicians.

  • Offer solutions and advice on field problems to Production/Repair Technicians.

  • Train Technicians on service repairs to complete orders and implementation of TSBs and PRNs.

  • Develop and follow procedures as required for production and service processes.

  • Maintain a neat and organized shop and serve as a backup for other functions within the department.

  • Other duties assigned by Department Manager and serve as a backup for other Leads and floor Supervisors during absence.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years or equivalent experience in Service, Production, and/or technical support.

  • Strong teamwork capabilities including the ability to effectively work with leadership, peers and other internal and external individuals through projects, making sure project deadlines are met.

  • Experience with diagnosing and repairing hardware devices.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Previous experience in Medical Imaging or Instruments preferred.

  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge in system configuration for network communication.

  • Must be familiar with Production and service environments

  • Have experience with inputting, accessing and analyzing data using a CRM and ERP systems.

Working Conditions

The associate is regularly required to apply manual dexterity, including hand/wrist flexibility, for computer keyboarding. The associate frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is frequently required to hear and speak in order to use the telephone, make presentations and communicate with people in an office environment. The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

The associate will primarily work in a typical office environment including use of cubicles, computers and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The associate will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, data base management, email, and the Internet. The associate is frequently required to use a calculator; fax, copy machine, and phone system. The associate must occasionally use media equipment such as an overhead projector, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.

The Target Pay Range for this position is $27.00- $35.00 Hourly. At Mars, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
