Responsibilities

Are you a Senior-level master of executive communications and PR, looking to influence one of the largest Cloud conferences in the world? The Director of Communications - Global Events is accountable for building and maintaining channels and programs to broadcast the Global Events digital and in-person event strategy and activities to a wide-ranging set of internal team members, including executives, field marketing, sales teams, event teams, and Oracle employees.

You will manage a small team to build our communications strategy and implement those plans. You will work alongside the Demand Generation and Analytics & Insights teams, as well as other Global Events leaders and team members. You will also build and use positive relationships with other Oracle teams to align your efforts with customer and collaborator needs.

Scope of Director of Communications - Global Events (remote/telecommute):

  • Work closely with the Vice President of Global Events and the Senior Director of Event Marketing, Communications and Analytics to develop and deliver a well-rounded communications plan to align the entire company around our flagship event, Oracle CloudWorld, as well as our digital event series Oracle Live, Oracle Developer Live, Oracle Database World and more.

  • Partner with the global field marketing and sales teams to communicate the benefit of Oracle CloudWorld for them, their customers, prospects and target audiences in support of their efforts to maximize customer attendance at all events.

  • Develop, deliver, and maintain key internal communications channels to reach your audience where they are with an eye to how they want to consume information, using intranet sites, email, Slack, Word, Excel and Powerpoint, video, social media, team meetings, and many others.

  • Key activities are: organizing monthly global all-hands meetings and employee recognition programs, crafting monthly internal newsletters, managing communications through internal web sites and Slack platforms, gathering feedback and measuring efficiency of your key activities.

What We Expect:

You are an accomplished communications professional with the ability to establish a strong working partnership with senior executives and stakeholders at all levels. You will have the confidence and experience to be a trusted advisor and mentor, helping senior executives become highly effective communicators.

  • Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Ability to communicate sophisticated business messages clearly and effectively.

  • Have a flair for visual storytelling with excellent presentation and delivery skills.

  • Have excellent program management skills, supervise and measure program performance, and make constant improvements.

  • Experienced in working in global matrixed organizations, leading virtual, multi-cultural teams to achieve desired goals.

  • Experience and knowledge of large-scale technology events is an advantage.

  • 10+ years of communications experience communicating with impact in sales ops, field marketing, campaign marketing or corporate communications

  • Proven success engaging within a highly-matrixed global marketing organization to improve the benefit of programs and campaigns for them and their stakeholders.
