Grace Health Behavioral Health Manager in Battle Creek, Michigan

Grace Health is looking for a Manager of Behavioral Health to provide behavioral health consultation to providers within the organization in order to improve the overall functioning of children, adolescents, adults and families. They perform assessments, plans, and coordinates services, as well as engage community resources to meet the needs of the patient and their family. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (This list may not be all inclusive.)

  1. Provide face to face clinical supervision of all behavioral health clinical staff members.

  2. Review and sign off clinical chart documentation and correspondence.

  3. Available for as needed clinical consultation for behavioral health and medical staff.

  4. Participates in the selection, training/orientation, and performance evaluation of behavioral health staff and students.

  5. Evaluates crisis situations and applies appropriate interventions.

  6. Works with operations for template management and workforce allocation.

  7. Identifies basic life needs, physical health needs, and other biopsychosocial stressors.

  8. Consult with providers in patient rooms in order to assist with diagnostics and treatment implementation.

  9. Educate patients, families, and Grace Health staff about available referral and services in the community.

  10. Provide therapeutic services for referred patients in school and/or clinical settings.

  11. Offer consultation to area schools and agencies; responds to school crises as necessary.

  12. Create written documentation to patients' attorneys (such as a disability claim form).

  13. Assist in the detection of at-risk patients and development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.

  14. Assist the primary care team in developing care management processes such as the use of guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self management of chronic disease.

  15. Monitor the sites' behavioral health program, identifying problems related to patient services and making recommendations for improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Counseling Psychology OR Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology

Experience: Three years of combined pre and post degreed experience in a related mental health or primary care treatment setting.

Certificate/License: Ph.D., Psy.D., or MA in Counseling, Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an accredited program; or as a Masters Social Worker (LMSW). Current Michigan license commensurate with degree required. If operating under limited licensure, will attain unrestricted licensure within 2 years of employment.
