Department Summary:

The NC3 Cyber Resiliency Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for providing expert knowledge and guidance on matters related to cybersecurity and cyber resilience for Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems. This includes developing architectures and strategies to enable NC3 systems to operate in cyber-contested environments and ensure the success of NC3 missions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The SME will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to identify and define how cybersecurity and cyber resiliency should be integrated into future NC3 networks and systems. They will also be responsible for staying updated on the latest trends and advancements in the field of cyber security and resiliency.

The NC3 Cyber Resiliency SME is a key role responsible for providing comprehensive knowledge and expertise on all aspects related to cyber resiliency for NC3. Key responsibilities include:

1) Designing and developing secure and resilient architectures for NC3 systems, ensuring their ability to withstand and recover from cyber threats and attacks.

2) Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand the potential use of new technologies and systems, ensuring their compatibility with existing NC3 architectures and their contribution to overall cyber resilience.

3) Staying abreast of the latest cyber threat trends, advancements, and emerging threats in the field of cybersecurity and cyber resilience and applying this knowledge to future NC3 architectures and systems.

4) Providing expert advice and guidance to decision-makers and stakeholders on all matters related to cybersecurity and cyber resilience of NC3 architectures and systems.

5) Collaborating with external partners to leverage their expertise and resources in enhancing the cybersecurity and cyber resilience of NC3 systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related technical field and 10+ years applicable Cybersecurity experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance for consideration.

  • Documented success designing and developing secure and resilient architectures.

  • Extensive experience in cyber security and resilience, particularly in relation to NC3 or similar systems.

  • Strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of the latest cyber security technologies and best practices.

  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.

  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in applicable technical field.
