Job Description Summary

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving the PET/MR system design, with special focus on the PET sub-system and its interaction with the MR system, to drive improved performance, image quality, and reliability

  • Providing domain expertise to serve as the main integrator between the hardware and software functions to deliver the best high quality product.

  • Working across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement the next generation of products.

  • Working with customers, Marketing and field personnel to refine requirements which can be refined by the engineering teams.

  • Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on image quality.

  • Delivering and incorporating feedback results into new hardware, software and service specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Master or Ph.D degree in MR or PET Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or closely related discipline Proficient in the use of software tools for analysis and simulation.

  • Broad exposure to Hardware/Software/Systems design, and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Hardware, Pulse sequences, Reconstruction, image processing etc) Motivation and proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems

  • Desired Characteristic:

  • 3 years relevant work experience.

  • Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to pursue tasks to completion
