Job Responsibilities

  • Overall Role: Lead commercial health insurance (CHI) business, including developing overall company level CHI strategy and product level CHI strategy, leading CHI policy advocacy strategy and activities, leading CHI project implementation, and driving business collaboration and partnership with external authority, commercial insurers, TPA (Third-party service agencies), insurance brokers etc. to find alternative payment solutions to improve patient accessibility and affordability in self-pay market.

  • Strategy Development: Develop CHI strategy at BI company level and prepare for regular board review and leadership team review about CHI topic. Lead City supplementary CHI strategy development and alignment with cross functions (MKT, Sales, Market Access) for in-line and pipeline products (esp. Oncology and Rare Disease drugs), to identify target city for CHI access, set up KPI and regular reviews.

  • Policy Advocacy: Lead industry level CHI policy advocacy, by leveraging industry association platforms and other 3rd party channels. Upgrade CHI policy advocacy positions and deliver key messages to CHI policy stakeholder to co-create a favorable policy environment for CHI.

  • Project Execution: Lead innovative CHI pilot program execution and lead i City Supplementary CHI access project execution by working closely with internal functions (MKT, Sales, Channel Solution, Legal and Compliance etc.) and external CHI stakeholders.

  • External Partnership: Build business collaboration and strategic partnership with external stakeholders in commercial insurance areas, such as top commercial insurers (China Life, PICC, Ping An, Tai Kang etc.), top TPA firms (Meditrust, Yuanxin, Sipai etc.), and top re-insurers (e.g., China Re) to enlarge CHI network and drive business.

  • Internal Collaboration: Lead internal cross functions to build CHI strategy, implement CHI activities and achieve CHI business targets.

Qualifications

  • Education Background: Bachelor's degree in medical and pharma, public health majors (healthcare background) or economics, finance, insurance majors (finance background).

  • Working Background: 58 years working experience in pharmaceutical industry, insurance company or TPA firm. Candidates with healthcare/disease/drug Commercial Insurance designing or execution experience is preferred.

  • Internal Soft skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership with the capability to work closely with internal cross-functional team (Market Access, Marketing, Sales, Channel Solution etc.).

  • Understand pharma MNC compliance requirement and work process, communication experience and intern-personal skills. English written and oral presentation capability is needed.

  • External Soft skills: Strong communication capability and win-win collaboration mindset to work with external stakeholders (e.g., insurance authority, insurers, TPAs, industry associates etc.)
